Meeting of the City Council was held at 7:00 o’clock P.M.

Present,-Councillors Hall, Hetel, Swartz, Daly O’Brien, Scatamacchia, Ryan, Macek and Curtin

Absent,-President Hart

Records of the last meeting was approved.

Councillor Hall was appointed to read the records for the present week.

PETITIONS

Applications were received from the following for 2007 Drainlayer licenses:

  • Patrick Kelly 11-P
  • Charles Zaher 11-Q

GRANTED Yeas 8, Absent 1

Application was received for a Hawker/Peddler license from Joann Perez to sell flowers; Holidays from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM , at South Main st across from the Bradford bridge in front of the Dunkin Donuts shop.

On motion of Councillor Macek to deny the license, the yeas and nays were as follows:

Yeas 8, Absent 1, and MOTION PASSED and LICENSE NOT GRANTED 17-C

Communication was received from City Solicitor William Cox submitting the preliminary draft of the Code of the City of Haverhill for review and requests it be referred to a working committee of the City Council.

HEARING (M.G.L. Ch.166

Hearing was held on Document 23, a petition from Verizon New England requesting a conduit location on Vila st. With Robert Grassia appearing in favor and no one in opposition, the hearing was closed.
