Meeting of the City Council was held at 7:00 o’clock P.M.

Present,-President Hart, Councillors Hall, Hetel, Swartz, Daly O’Brien, Ryan, Macek and Curtin

Absent,-Councillor Scatamacchia

Councillor Scatamacchia was appointed to read the records for the week of March 13th & Councillor Macek was appointed to read the records for the present week.

Notice was received from Mayor Fiorentini of the appointment of Wayne Amaral as Chairman of the Central Business District Parking Commission.

Petition was received from Bandits Baseball to hold Tag Days on June 24th & 25th.

Application was received from Gerald Cannon for a Hawker/ Peddler license to sell hotdogs, sausages, soda, chips, water and pre-packaged ice cream in Washington sq; Sunday-Saturday,
9:00 AM to 3:00 AM.

On motion of Councill Hall to grant the license with the time of“9:00 AM to 10:00 PM”, the yeas and nays were as follows:

Yeas,-Councillors Hall, Hetel, Swartz and Daly O’Brien 4, Nays,-Councillors Macek, Ryan, Curtin and President Hart 4, Absent,-Councillor Scatamacchia 1, and NOT GRANTED

On motion of Councillor Ryan to reconsider, the yeas and nays were as follows: Yeas 8, Absent 1, and MOTION PASSED and DOCUMENT RECONSIDERED

On motion of Councillor Macek grant the license with the amended time of “9:00 AM to 9:00 PM”, the yeas and nays were as follows:
Yeas 8, Absent 1, and MOTION PASSED and GRANTED AS AMENDED 17-D

Application was received from Robert Daly for a Hawker/ Peddler license to sell hotdogs, sausages, kielbasa, pepper steaks, soda, water & chips outside of Riverside Park on Lincoln av, January thru December, Monday thru Saturday 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
GRANTED Yeas 8, Absent 1 17-E

Application was received from the Spanish Union of Haverhill for a Special License to sell Alcoholic Beverages at the Citizen Center, Saturday, May 19th, 7:00 PM to 1:00 AM.

On motion of Councillor Daly O’Brien to suspend the rules to introduce the following communication from the Haverhill Foundation for Excellence in Education inviting all to a
“Roast and Toast” for Mayoral candidates on March 24th at Diburro’s Function Hall, the yeas and nays were as follows:
Yeas 8, Absent 1, and MOTION PASSED and Placed on FILE 34
