Meeting of the City Council was held at 7:00 o’clock P.M.

Present,-President Hart, Councillors Hall, Hetel, Swartz, Daly O’Brien, Scatamacchia, Ryan and Macek

Absent,-Councillor Curtin

Records of the last meeting were approved.

Councillor Swartz was appointed to read the records for the present week.

Notice was received from Mayor Fiorentini of the appointment of David E Hall to the Personnel Advisory Board. Said appointment effective April 20, 2007.

Hearing was held on Document 26, a petition from Attorney James Waldron requesting Street Acceptance of Jamaica Lane as a Public Way. With Attorney James Waldron appearing in favor
and no one in opposition, the hearing was closed.

Hearing was held on Document 36, an application for Chapter 40R Downtown Smart Growth Overlay District from POUA Holdings LLC - affiliate of Archdiocese of Boston, (Trippi
limited partnership – owner) for redevelopment of the Hayes building, 14-44 Granite st; 57 units of rental housing and the ground floor to be used as commercial space. With Attorney Richard Sheehan, Lisa Alberghani, William Grogan, Susan Kosa, Al Galla and Joshua Lathum appearing in favor and Louis Fossarelli in opposition, the hearing was closed.

Councillor Hall submitted the recommendations of the Traffic and Safety Committee meeting that was held on March 6 2007.

On motion of Councillor Hall to refer from Chief DeNaro’s letter dated April 13 2007 the following : Item #’s 4, 6 & 7 to Planning for Ordinances, the yeas and nays were as follows, Yeas 8, Absent 1, and MOTION PASSED

On motion of Councillor Daly O’Brien to refer from Chief DeNaro’s letter dated April 13 2007 the following: Item #6 also be referred to Traffic & Safety Committee regarding the handicap spaces, the yeas and nays were as follows:
