Meeting of the City Council was held at 7:00 o’clock P.M.
Present,-President Hart, Councillors Hall, Hetel, Swartz, Daly O’Brien, Scatamacchia, Macek and Ryan
Records of the last meeting were approved.
Councillor Scatamacchia was appointed to read the records for the present week.
Applications were received for Tag Days from:
GRANTED (Absent,-Councillors Ryan & Curtin) Yeas 7, Absent 2
The following license applications were received from:
Doris Segal 108 River st Buy/Sell 2nd Hnd Articles 54
On the question of granting, the yeas and nays were as follows:
Ronald Glick 24 Emerson st Pawnbroker 54-E
On the question of postponing, the yeas and nays were as follows:
Yeas,-Councillors Hall, Daly O’Brien, Scatamacchia, Macek and President Hart 5, Nays,-Councillors Hetel, Swartz and Ryan 3, Absent,-Councillor Curtin 1, and POSTPONED to MAY 22 2007
Petition was received from Sofia Zaralides of the Greek
Orthodox Church requesting to hang a banner at intersection of
Salem & So Main st; from May 29th thru June 10th announcing the
Communication was received from Building Inspector submitting the following Orders to demolish the buildings at:
VOTED: that HEARINGS BE HELD JUNE 12 2007
Abatement report was received from the Board of Assessors
for the month of April.
Communication was received from Councillor Daly O’Brien
requesting a discussion regarding street lights in the City.
Hearing was held on Document 35, an application for a Special Permit from Attorney James Waldron representing Ronald & Alba Roderick to build a five-unit multifamily dwelling to be used as condos on Auburn st. With Attorney Waldron and Steve Stapinski appearing in favor and no one in opposition, the hearing was closed.
On motion of Councillor Macek that the Special Permit
be granted as amended: “that the Special Permit stipulate
that the developer be required to comply with the “Proposed
conditions and stipulations” as stated in the letter dated
May 3 2007 from William Pillsbury and also that all items in
the letters from City Departments along with all requirements
for special permits be made part of the special permit for
this project”, the yeas and nays were as follows:
Councillor Scatamacchia introduced Document 6-BB To Wit: ORDERED: That the City Council of the City of Haverhill
concur with the favorable findings of the Natural Resources
and Public Buildings Committee to reduce the price of
the lot on Eudora st being Map 529, Block 25, Lot 16-2 to
amount of $117,300.00.
On motion of Councillor Daly O’Brien to suspend the
rules to introduce the following Proclamation, the yeas
and nays were as follows:

On motion of Councillor Hall to suspend the rules to
introduce the following communication, the yeas and nays
were as follows:
Communication was received from Councillor Hall requesting
to discuss Summer jobs for City youth.
