ORDERED: That the Mayor be and is hereby authorized to waive certain interest charges thru January 31 2011 on water and wastewater bills, all is required by the Code of the City of Haverhill, for those persons whose bills were due November 30 2010, where their bills are higher than normal and who are suffering a financial hardship in paying their water & wastewater bills. ORDERED: That the sum of $23,855.10 be appropriated and transferred from Insurance Reimbursement Exceeding $20,000 to Capital Project – FY11 Police Department Roof Repair. PASSED Yeas 9, Nays 0 32-M
ORDERED: That the sum of $205,499 is appropriated to pay costs of making repairs to the Whittier Road Bridge, and to Bridges #1 and #2 on Millvale Road, including the payment of all costs incidental and related thereto; that to meet the appropriation, the Treasurer, with the approval of the Mayor is authorized to borrow said amount under and pursuant to Chapter 44, Section 7(4) of the General Laws, or pursuant to any other enabling authority, and to issue bonds or notes of the City therefore, and that in connection therewith, the Treasurer is authorized to file an application with the appropriate officials of The Commonwealth of Massachusetts (the “Commonwealth”) to qualify under Chapter 44 A of the General Laws any and all bonds of the City issued pursuant to this order, and to provide such information and execute such documents as such officials of the Commonwealth may require in connection therewith.
