Meeting of the City Council was held at 7:00 o’clock P.M., Room 204.

Present,-President Hart, Councillors Scatamacchia, Ryan, Young, Hall, LePage, Daly O’Brien, Amirian and Macek.

Records of the last meeting were approved.

Councillor Young was appointed to read the records for the present week.

Communication was received from Councillor Daly O’Brien requesting a discussion regarding the Mayor’s Scholarship Committee
COUNCILLOR DALY O’BRIEN EXPLAINED HOW THE COMMITTEE WAS ESTABLISHED AND CRITERIA FOR AWARDING OF SCHOLARSHIPS. SHE WANTED COUNCILLORS TO REVIEW THE MATERIAL PRESENTED TO ADMIINISTRATION AND FINANCE COMMITTEE MOTION TO POSTPONE TO APRIL 26 Yeas 9, Nays 0 33-F

Councillor Daly O’Brien presented the minutes of the Administration and Finance Committee meeting held on April 13, 2011 regarding the Mayor’s Scholarship Committee. The Committee’s recommendations were to return the name to the “City Scholarship Fund” as originally passed February 19, 2002; have the School Department/High School administer the Fund; have the Mayor re-appoint the Committee to establish criteria for the scholarship.
