Meeting of the City Council was held at 7:00 o’clock P.M., Room 202.

Present,-President Hart, Councillors Scatamacchia, Ryan, Young, Hall, LePage, Daly O’Brien, Amirian and Macek.

Records of the last meeting were approved.

Councillor LePage was appointed to read the records for the present week.

Communication was received from Councillor LePage requesting a discussion regarding the City’s policy on receiving payment for City bills. Councillor LePage stated that the policies are not the same between city departments and he has some concerns. Will work with President Hart to write a letter to Mayor as a follow up to Feb. 8th letter sent to Mayor.

Councillor Macek presented the minutes of the Natural Resources & Public Property Committee meeting held on April 27. Two items discussed were a request from Robert Lapierre to purchase city land abutting his property, Avon Place, Map 501, Bl. 228, Lot 29. Recommendation of Committee was to have Mayor surplus land and negotiate sale price with Mr. Lapierre. On motion of Councillor Macek to send a letter to Mayor to surplus the land on Avon Place and negotiate sale price with Mr. Lapierre with a deeded easement relative to the private sewer line. Yeas 8, Abstain 1. Also, carpeting conditions at City Hall. Co. Macek stated that two companies have offered to donate carpeting for city hall. Recommendation of Committee was to send a letter to Mayor asking him to take immediate steps to expedite flooring project to assure public safety and to identify funding in the current fiscal year, not wait to FY2012 in order to prevent additional costs. Motion unanimously approved. *
