October 30, 2007 Meeting of the City Council was held at 7:00 o’clock P.M. Present,-President Hart, Councillors Hall, Hetel, Swartz, Daly O’Brien, Scatamacchia, Macek, Ryan and Curtin Records of the last meeting were approved. Councillor Scatamacchia was appointed to read the records for the present week. _______________________ Notice was received from Mayor Fiorentini of the appointment
of Thomas DiPietro to the Water/Wastewater Abatement Board. Said
appointment effective October 26, 2007. PETITIONS Application was received for a 2007 Drainlayer license
from Ciro Fodera.
Applications were received for the following licenses:
GRANTED Yeas 9, Nays 0 Notice of Hearing was received from the Algonquin Gas
Transmission for the East to West Hubline Expansion Project
with comments received by November 21stfor Pre-Filing Process. Petition was received from Verizon New England and MA
Electric Co requesting a joint pole location on Broadway-Route 97. Petition was received from Verizon New England and MA
Electric Co requesting a conduit location on Broadway-Route 97 COMMUNICATIONS Communication was received from Councillor Macek
requesting a discussion regarding concerns on South Merrill st
and to introduce Chris Kelley of South Merrill st to elaborate
on the current parking situation. Communication was received from Councillor Macek
requesting to discuss the need for remedial cleaning of
housing across from Homestead Construction site on Old
Groveland rd and the need for the City to establish policies/procedures for such cleaning & future construction permits. Communication was received from Councillor Hall requesting a discussion regarding No Parking on South Pleasant st from South Main st West for 62 ft, south side. On the question to REFER TO PLANNING, the yeas and nays were as follows: Yeas,-Councillors Hall, Hetel, Swartz, Daly O’Brien, Macek, Curtin and President Hart 7, Nays,-Councillors Scatamacchia and Ryan 2, and PLACED ON FILE and REFERRED to PLANNING 93-M Communication was received from Councillor Hall requesting
a discussion regarding restricting truck traffic on Lawrence rd
to 26,000 pounds (10-wheelers or smaller). Communication was received from Councillor Hall
requesting a discussion about eliminating parking on both
sides of Katsaros dr from Groveland st to Brown st. Communication was received from Councillor Hall
requesting a discussion regarding the No Parking zone on
Woodcock av (east side) from Brook st (south) for 425 feet
to the driveway of 19 Woodcock av. Communication was received from Councillor Hall
requesting a discussion regarding posting a stop sign on
Old Newton rd at the intersection of Newton rd ,Rte 108). Communication was received from Councillor Hall
requesting a discussion regarding posting a stop sign at
the end of South Elm st heading west. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Document 56-C ORDERED: Order to demolish the building at 91 South Williams st;
