DUAL CHECK BACKFLOW PREVENTER REGULATION

The Board of Health, City of Haverhill, in accordance with, and under the authority of Chapter 111 Section 31, and 127 of the Massachusetts General Laws, promulgated and adopted the following regulation at its meeting on October 7, 1997 and amended the regulation on October 15, 2002:

Dual checkvalve backflow preventers must be installed on all new or replacement pumps and or wells being used for, but not limited to, residential, commercial, drinking, manufacturing, irrigation and fire protection. Said device shall be installed by licensed plumbers, inspected by the local Plumbing Inspector, and annually tested by the Haverhill Water Department or an approved testing company.
