REGULATION AND FEE SCHEDULE OF HOT TUBS AND/OR SPECIAL POOLS

In accordance with the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter III, Section 31, the Board of Health promulgates the following regulation governing hot tubs, public spas and other special pools which are delineated in Title II of the State Environmental Code and the federal guidelines for the health and safety of said hot tubs.

No person shall construct or install a special purpose pool until the plans and specifications for the construction have been approved by the Board of Health.

The plans must be signed by a Massachusetts registered professional engineer. The annual permit fee for such a hot tub or special purpose pool is $50.00.
