KINDS OF GRANTS Please note: grants from LCCs are reimbursement-based. (The applicant expends their own money, and if approved for a grant, then submits paperwork for reimbursement.) LCC Grants for projects When you decide to apply for a grant, it's important that you understand the form, especially the budget page. Admittedly, this state form should come with instructions, like a tax form. It's not easy to interpret if you've never written a proposal before or balanced an expense budget with projected revenue. We urge you to take advantage of our free Grant Workshop at our September meeting for seasoned and new applicants. PASS Grants for K-12 field trips These grants are not the same kind of proposal as the LCC grant. Basically, you're requesting ticket and transportation reimbursement for a cultural field trip. In recent years, we've prioritized funding for PASS grants to help replace the cuts in the arts in our school system. As with anything new, we often learn best from those who have been there before us. Check to see who and what has been funded this year in Haverhill and contact the award recipient. You can always email us, too. We're happy to discuss your idea in person or on the phone and help you through application process. You can always Email us HAVERHILL'S SPECIFIC GUIDELINES In addition to the State's criteria for eligibility, we have specific funding priorities and requirements that allow us to respond to the changing needs of our community. It is in your own best interest to be absolutely sure your project is eligible for funding. Be clear on what the State will NOT fund. Funding Priorities The Haverhill Cultural Council encourages a diverse range of projects to broaden access to the arts, humanities, and interpretive sciences for the citizens of Haverhill. Preference is given to innovative, creative or pioneering ideas that offer meaningful discourse between the project partners and the targeted audience; confirm comprehensive planning including public relations; enhance the Creative Economy and provide joy and reflection to the citizens. Application Requirements The Haverhill Cultural Council requires all of the following items for an application to be complete. 1. The project must have a Haverhill sponsor and/or substantial community support demonstrated in a letter that accompanies the application. (Applicable only if applicant is not based in Haverhill.) 2. The project must be presented or realized in Haverhill and demonstrate tangible benefits to Haverhill's residents and visitors. 3. Applications will state what other financial support the project will request/obtain to prove that it is not solely dependent on council funding. Nearly all grants are just partially supported. 4. Applications will include resumes of key participants including artists or other project providers, organizational staff and any partner who will help realize the project. 5. The applicant will include 12 copies of the application and only (1) one set of supplemental materials. |
