A program, which stresses the basics of the sport, while teaching the participants about sportsmanship and having fun, without focusing on competitiveness. Boys and girls between the ages of 5-8 take part in this family-oriented program, which runs on Saturday mornings during May and June.
-- top of page -- Haverhill Jr. Football League *** Players must be registered before receiving a helmet and shoulder pads. Parents & players are responsible for providing their own football pants, hip pads, thigh pads, knee pads and footwear. Parents need to notify Recreation Department and their child’s coach of any pre-existing medical condition. (Please indicate allergies, medications, or medical condition in the additional comment section while registering on-line). Coaches will be in contact with parents / players regarding practice times, etc. FEE: $110.00 IMPORTANT DATES: Equipment issue and weigh-ins will be conducted at the Haverhill Citizen’s Center on the following dates: (No walk-in registrations on these dates)
-- top of page -- Plug Pond Swimming: -- top of page -- Veteran's Memorial Skating Rink -- top of page -- LACROSSE (grades 3&4, 5&6, 7&8) Boys & Girls (grades 3 & 4, 5 & 6, 7 & 8) The Lacrosse league is a recreational league with the emphasis on playing the sport and fundamentals. We will be competing in the Mass. Bay Youth Lacrosse League beginning in April. In order to prepare for the April Season we will be hosting practice sessions for all players to be Held at the Bradford Elementary School on Tues or Wed evenings beginning January 5, 2010. Registrations are being accepted for league play with practice sessions or you may register for league only (must register by12/15).
-- top of page -- The Haverhill Recreation department has partnered with New England’s leader in Soccer Coaching, PLAYSOCCER. Great winter activity! This six-week program curriculum will consist of: dribbling, passing, turning, goalkeeping, goal scoring and much more.
Soccer Tots (4-6 yrs) this program is ideal for the youngest of players. It is a non-competitive introduction to soccer through simple skills & fun games. Participants will learn to interact with one another and hopefully will encourage them to play again and again. 5:45pm - 6:45pm, Soccer Juniors Program: (7-9 yrs) this program is designed to help improve the skills of both boys & girls alike in a safe, fun and educational environment. PLAY SOCCER will help develop their skills through a series of games, drills and scrimmages. 6:50pm- 7:50pm -- top of page -- 5th-8th Grade only Under the Direction of Mickey Lawler, this popular program teaches the fundamentals & techniques taught in amateur wrestling with participants competing in various tournaments. Practices held on Tuesdays & Thursdays beginning Tues., Nov 17th through end of March 2010

There are 3 age levels: SOCCER TOTS 2008 Curriculum (4 - 6 years) Half day only This exceptionally fun week is ideal for the youngest of our players. Our non-competitive curriculum introduces soccer players to simple skills and fun games. Through fun World Cup days, players are taught how to interact as a team and learn about various cultures from around the world. Help cap off the excitement yourself by participating in our parents vs. campers game at the end of the week. SOCCER JUNIORS 2008 Curriculum (7 - 9 years) Full or Half Day A new camp designed to help young players improve their skills and knowledge in a safe, fun and educational environment. PLAY SOCCER will help develop their individual skills through a series of games, drills and scrimmages. Players will be divided by age to ensure an appropriate environment for a fun and challenging camp week. The week at camp will also center on the fun World Cup Tournament! FAST - TRAC 2008 Curriculum (10 - 12 years) Full or Half Day A more advanced version of our Soccer Juniors curriculum, this program offers players the chance to work on existing skills and also discover new, more advanced techniques. Players will experience a variety of games and drills as well as competing in our World Cup Tournament.

Girls in the 5th through 8th grade are welcome to the Clinic.. On Thurs evenings Dates: October 16th through November 20th Time: 6pm to 8pm Location: Pentucket Lake School Fee: $15 per player the clinic will stress good sportsmanship, having fun and solid basketball fundamentals which will include: - top of page -- Girls Traveling Basketball A 7th and an 8th grade girl’s Travel Basketball will be formed from the Clinic participants at the conclusion of the Clinics. The Travel Teams will compete in the River Valley Girl’s Basketball League which runs from December through February. Cost $125 Per Player - top of page -- Boys Basketball clinic will be offered in Haverhill under the direction of Mike Trovato Boys Head Basketball Coach at Haverhill High School and Current Haverhill High Players Boys in the 5th through 8th grade are welcome to the Clinic. on Tue. Evenings.
