Meeting of the License Commission was held at 7:00 PM In Room 202, City Council Chambers, City Hall.

Present: Chairman Edwards and Commissioner Sullivan

On the motion of Commissioner Sullivan and seconded by Chairman Edwards the minutes for the September meeting were accepted and they were unanimously approved.

Application was received for approval of an All Alcohol One Day License from Butlers & Bars. A Sponsor Appreciation Night will take place at Winnekenni Castle on October 10, 2008 from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Grace Marcoux, applicant. Deb Ingalls appeared in favor and no one appeared in opposition. On the motion of Commissioner Sullivan and seconded by Chairman Edwards the application was unanimously approved.

Application was received for approval of an All Alcohol One Day License from Butlers & Bars. The Monster Masquerade Mash will take place at Winnekenni Castle on November 1, 2008 from 7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. Grace Marcoux, applicant. Deb Ingalls appeared in favor and no one appeared in opposition. On the motion of Commissioner Sullivan and seconded by Chairman Edwards the application was unanimously approved.

Application was received for pre approval of a One Day Wines and Malt License from JP McBride’s located at 27 Lafayette Square. The World Music Festival will take place on October 26, 2008 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. John Lovett, applicant appeared in favor and no one appeared in opposition. On the motion of Commissioner Sullivan and seconded by Chairman Edwards the application was unanimously approved.

Application was received for pre approval of a Common Victuallers License from Cannon’s Super Subs & Pizzatinis located at 64 Washington Street. Sonia and Gerald Cannon, applicants. Mr. Cannon appeared in favor and no one appeared in opposition. On the motion of Commissioner Sullivan and seconded by Chairman Edwards, the application was unanimously approved.

Application was received for approval of a Common Victuallers License from Villa Mar Caribean Restaurant located at 31 White Street. Yimy Jimenez, applicant appeared in favor and no one appeared in opposition. On the motion of Commissioner Sullivan and seconded by Chairman Edwards, the application was unanimously approved.

Application was received for approval of a Class II Car Dealer License from Franks Auto Center located at 620 Main Street. Francis Koram, applicant appeared in favor and no one appeared in opposition. On the motion of Commissioner Sullivan and seconded by Chairman Edwards, the application was unanimously approved.

Application was received for the transfer of a Class II Car Dealers License from Automotive Services of New England Corporation d/b/a Riverview Motors to Plum Autoworks Inc. d/b/a Riverview Motors located at 534 River Street. John Powers, applicant appeared in favor and no one appeared in opposition. On the motion of Commissioner Sullivan and seconded by Chairman Edwards, the application was unanimously approved.

Application was received for approval of a Wines and Malt Restaurant License and a Common Victuallers License from Royal India Restaurant, Inc. d/b/a Royal India Restaurant located at 42 Merrimack Street. Ram K. Kadariya, applicant appeared in favor and no one appeared in opposition. On the motion of Commissioner Sullivan and seconded by Chairman Edwards, the application was unanimously approved pending signoffs.

Application was received for approval of a transfer of an All Alcohol Restaurant License, Common Victuallers License and Entertainment License, from Tulley, LLC. d/b/a Johnny’s to Prost, LLC. d/b/a Prost located at 59 Washington Street. Lynne Romano, applicant. Attorney Cleary appeared in favor and no one appeared in opposition. On the motion of Commissioner Sullivan and seconded by Chairman Edwards, the application was unanimously approved.

Show Cause Hearing: Chit Chat Lounge for over serving on July 24, 2008. Mrs. Spencer spoke in favor. Sgt Pistone and Office Cardone spoke. The License Commission granted a 2 day suspension of license for Monday Oct 13, 2008 and Monday Oct 20, 2008.
2 DAY SUSPENSION

Show Cause Hearing: Cheerleader’s for over serving on August 30, 2008. Could not attend the meeting. The License Commission rescheduled the meeting for November 3, 2008.

Adjournment: The meeting adjourned at 7:45 PM. The next meeting will be held on November 3, 2008.
