October 6, 2003 Meeting of the License Commission was held on Monday, October 6, 2003 at 7:00 O'clock P.M., Room 202, City Hall. Present, Chairman Florent, Commissioners Edwards and Bevilacqua. Commissioner Edwards was appointed to read the minutes of the current month. Application was received for a pre-approval of a transfer of a Common
Victuallers License from Sunjay Patel d/b/a Kittredge's Variety located
at 389 So Main Street to Catherine Pare, d/b/a Perk City located at 389
So Main Street. Catherine Pare appearing in favor of the application
and with no one opposed, the hearing was closed. On motion of Commissioner
Edwards and seconded by Commissioner Bevilacqua, the application was
unanimously pre-approved with condition that all taxes be paid. Application was received for a pre-approval
of a transfer of a Common Victuallers license from Sora Kim d/b/a Town & Country Cafe located
at 695 So Main Street to Kyung Jin Cho, d/b/a Town & Country Cafe
located at 695 So Main Street. Kyun Jin Cho appearing in favor of the
application and with no one opposed, the hearing was closed. On motion
of Commissioner Bevilacqua and seconded by Commissioner Edwards, the
application was unanimously pre-approved. Application was received for a pre-approval
of a New Common Victuallers License from Marilyn Meek d/b/a Leaf & Ladle
Cafe located at 20 Emerson Street. Marilyn Meek appearing in favor
of the application and with no
one opposed, the hearing was closed. On motion of Commissioner Edwards
and seconded by Commissioner Bevilacqua, the application was unanimously
pre-approved. Application was received for final approval of a Common Victuallers
License from Remigia Sanchez d/b/a Havanah Seafood located at 525 River
Street. Remigia Sanchez appearing in favor of the application and with
no one opposed, the hearing was closed. On motion of Commissioner Bevilacqua
and seconded by Commissioner Edwards, the application was unanimously
approved. Application was received for a Pre-Approval of a Transfer of a Common
Victuallers License from Jimmy D's Pastries Unlimited located at 223
Lincoln Avenue to Emily's Bakery located at 223 Lincoln Avenue. Emily
Durning appearing in favor of the application and with no one opposed,
the hearing was closed. On motion of Commissioner Edwards and seconded
by Commissioner Bevilacqua, the application was unanimously pre-approved. Application was received for a New Class II Motor Vehicle Dealers License
for auctions only from Abelando Nunez d/b/a Abelardo Nunez Used Cars
located at 7 Observatory Avenue. Abelardo Nunez appearing in favor of
the application and with no one opposed, the hearing was closed. On motion
of Commissioner Bevilacqua and seconded by Commissioner Edwards, the
application was unanimously approved. Application was received for a Transfer of an
All Alcohol Package Store License from Central Plaza Liquors, Inc.
d/b/a Shamrock Wines & Spirits
to Central Plaza Wine & Spirits, Inc. d/b/a Central Plaza Liquors
located at 2 Water Street. Jonathan C Tea appearing in favor of the application
and with no one opposed, the hearing was closed. On motion of Commissioner
Bevilacqua and Seconded by Commissioner Edwards, the application was
unanimously approved. Application was received for a Transfer of an All Alcohol Restaurant
License from McDiger's Enterprises, Inc. d/b/a McDiger's Pub and Restaurant
located at 27 Lafayette Square to Keith P Ouellette d/b/a The Inner Circle.
Applicant Keith Ouellette requested that the hearing be postponed to
the next scheduled meeting. Application was received for a New All Alcohol Restaurant License from
MARDEB, LLC. d/b/a Krueger Flatbread located at 144 Essex Street. Attorney
Michael Migliori and Manager Timothy Donahue appearing in favor of the
application and with no one opposed, the hearing was closed. On motion
of Commissioner Edwards and seconded by Commissioner Bevilacqua, the
application was unanimously approved. A discussion was held regarding last month's show cause hearing for
Charlies Place located at 66 Locust Street. Attorney William Early and
Owner Angelina Palmieri spoke on behalf of Charlies Place. The Commissioners
agreed that the owner has taken steps to improve the conditions at the
