September 15, 2003 Meeting of the License Commission was held on September 15, 2003 Present, Chairman Florent and Commissioners Edwards and Bevilacqua Commissioner Edwards was appointed to read the minutes for the Present month. Application was received for 3 One Day Wine & Malt
Licenses from The Holy Apostles Church located at 154-156 Winter Street
for the Annual
Greek Festival to be held on October 24th, 25th and 26th, 2003. Rose
Young appearing in favor of the application and with no one opposed,
the hearing was closed. On motion of Commissioner Bevilacqua and seconded
by Commissioner Edwards, the application was unanimously approved. Application was received for a Pre-approval
of a Transfer of a Common Victuallers License from El Juanajuatence
to Cabrera’s Restaurant
located at 293 Washington Street. Emma Cabrera appearing in favor of
the application and with no one opposed, the hearing was closed. On motion
of Commissioner Edwards and seconded by Commissioner Bevilacqua, the
application was unanimously pre-approved. Application was received from Applebees Neighborhood
Bar & Grill
located at 56 Plaistow Road from David R Beauregard to Steven F MacDonald.
Steven F MacDonald and Barry Gerstein appearing in favor of the application
and with no one opposed, the hearing was closed. On motion o0f Commissioner
Bevilacqua and seconded by Commissioner Edwards, the application was
unanimously approved. Application was received for a Transfer of a
Wine & Malt Package
Store License from White Hen Pantry of Massachusetts, Inc. located at
56 River Street to Michele Sabri d/b/a White Hen Pantry. George Lamont
and Michele Sabri appearing in favor of the application and with no one
opposed, the hearing was closed. On motion of Commissioner Edwards and
seconded by Commissioner Bevilacqua the application was unanimously approved. Application was received from Mei Wei Corp d/b/a The
Mandarin Buffet located at 2 Essex Street for a Change of Manager from
Wen T Ren to Jin
Y Shao. Went T Ren, Jin Y Shao and Attorney Elizabeth Rose appearing
in favor of the application and with no one opposed, the hearing was
closed. On motion of Commissioner Bevilacqua and seconded by Commissioner Edwards,
the application was unanimously approved. A review of a Show Cause hearing for The Mandarin Buffet located at
2 Essex Street. On motion of Commissioner Bevilacqua and Seconded by
Commissioner Edwards, The Commissioners decided that Show Cause hearing for Charlies Place located at 57-61
Locust Street for Violation of 204CMR2.05(2) and 138 Section 69. Sgt.
Dana Burrill
appeared before the Commission to read the Police Reports and offer testimony
to the events that took place on the night of the violations. Attorney
William Early, Angelina Palmieri and Glenn Freeman also gave testimony
to the events. On motion of
Commissioner Edwards and seconded by Commissioner Bevilacqua, the Commission
decided that the hours of operation are to be curtailed to 11:00 Pm for
a period of 10 days beginning September 22, 2003 ending October 1, 2003. Meeting adjourned at 8:25 PM |
